"Rollin' in the trick blue pimp van,
see five guys, you know they all da man;
must be M-set kickin' on a road trip,
be it Spokane, B-ham or 'round town gettin' ripped."
The M-set van made it's debut at the 3B show in Bellingham over the weekend. It kicked ass. As did Bellingham once again. The night was highlighted by a nice crowd; Joy, Megan and Mary finding love in a "Get the F*@# Out" cue card; a great performance by Left Hand Smoke; and beer. Kudos to the Bellingham Inn for not hearing us partying until 5am. You know, the second most fun thing to do with M-set (or maybe the third) is party with us on poster night. About once every other week we take the M-van out and put up show posters around Seattle, where ever we can. Then we find a cool bar to hang out and have fun. Anyone interested in joining us, please feel free to call or e-mail and we'll tell you when the next outing is.

We were so bummed about having to postpone our Fort Spokane show for Nov. 10th that we ROCKED THE CROC LAST NIGHT! By all accounts the show went well. After the sound check we had the sound guy turn down the "Suck" knob on the sound board and the band sucked much less from that point on. It was nice to see so many people dancing on a Wednesday night. I think Barb dancing with Scott's dad, Con, was a highlight. Those who took Thursday morning off from work were smart. More later

It's official. The Fort Spokane Brewery in Spokane is a cool place. Not only is it a place to hear good music and drink good beer, but there are babes there! Maybe we were just lucky, but I personally saw many babes at the M-set show. What a fun trip. M-set better be playing there again sometime soon or I'm going to go bovine. For the upscale M-set fan (who?), the AD2 benefit compilation CD release party at the Big Picture was pip-pip and a smashing good time. Look for the CD at Tower Records. Now the band is preparing for the jewel event of October, the Halloween Bash at the Rain Dancer on Saturday, Oct. 28. At least 3 members of the band are getting liver transplants in preparation. It'll be more fun if you are there, so, show up (liver transplant not required).

OK people...Got some new info here! M-set has been working with a new member recently. Our work previously with Dave was both fun and productive. Unfortunately, it sucked when we realized that there were some changes that were needed and that we had to part with a quarter of the band. We respect Dave and will miss his geo-morphed wisdom. In our time of regrouping, we have acquired a great new asset in Jason De'Main. With some fresh new energy in the lineup, we've been crafting our show to the next level of musical intensity. So....come see us soon so we can share this unbridled excitement with you. You will dig it.

A lot has been going on since last typed. I will try to put some of the highlights up. The Bellingham shows seem to be getting better and better. After another stellar performance by your boys of M-set the party moved on to one of the fan's home, where we had a jam session till the wee hours of the morning. Eventually, the cops showed up and politely asked us to shut it down. What the heck, we needed sleep eventually anyways.
Just this last weekend we had another great show at the Lakepointe Grill, formerly everybody's favorite L.F.I. The other bands were a lot of fun, the crowd was energetic and enticing, and the beer flowed like wine. Plus, we had our friend Jason De'Main play the show with us, and what a kick ass job he did. More news (that you don't want to miss) to follow......

Haven't put some of the latest news up here for a while and figure now is a good time. This last weekend was a packed one with too many highlights to mention, but I will go through a few of them. On Friday your M-set boys appeared in Pullman, WA. After being interviewed for a couple of radio stations, we opened up a show for Left Hand Smoke at the Valhalla (formerly the Cavern). Man, those WSU people live up to their reputation and really know how to party. We even had a hard time keeping up (except Eugene....ofcourse). The next morning we dragged our asses out of bed, packed up and trekked back to Seattle for a night of playing at the Rain Dancer. There, at the Rain Dancer, we had another large cheering turnout of fans and friends. If you were at either of the shows, you know what a good time it was and we want to thank all of you for making that happen. If you weren't, you don't want to miss the next one.

Thursday, August 3rd, M-set and friends gathered at the World M-set Headquarters in Shoreline for a beer-swilling, BBQ birthday fest/recording party. Special guests included Kerry and Angie from Upsoyo , Ben and John from Left Hand Smoke, Kurt and Jeff (voices from Biography of a Buzz), Beth from Guitar Center, indie movie star James Tinsley, Bellingham superfans Amber and Matt and a hand full of other people who will remain nameless (but not faceless or beerless). It was Scott's birthday and what better way to celebrate a birthday than by finishing off a M-set recording down in the Washer and Dryer Studio. The entire party was moved down to the studio to record the crowd choruses for Get the F*&% Out. The song turned out great and a copy should be appearing on the M-set web site shortly. Thanks to the neighbors of the M-set World Headquarters for not calling the cops on us.

A new tradition has started. July 14th proved that M-set and Bellingham (+ a lot of beer) go together very well. After a fun show at the Up & Up with opening act Upsoyo, the band carried the party across the street to the hotel for some late night festivities. Accompanied by Super-fans Amber, Barb, and Heide, the Set-mates partied until late (details omitted). This seems to happen every time M-set plays in B-ham so it is now a tradition and will continue forever. Currently the band is practicing and slotting some new shows into the upcoming calendar. They are working on recording the crowd favorite "Get the F*!& Out" and hope to post it on the web site when done. M-set looks forward to partying with you at their next show.

So as a part of our "What`s the latest" section of our site, I`m ( Eugene) taking a turn to share a glimpse into how much it doesn`t suck to be in M-set. OK, so I`m just going to outline these past couple of days. First of all, Friday we had such a blast rehearsing that we are all convinced that we did in fact leave the planet for an unknown period of time. That brought us then to business mode. That being going to some local clubs to "network" with potential fans. You know, "Hey do you like kick ass rock and roll?" "Well, here is our card and come on down to Fremont this weekend and party with us." Great way to get funky, if you know what I mean.....So then last night the band and some friends bonded again at a little gathering at our house. The high lite, after watching the South Park movie for the 20th time, was a one hour marathon of solid laughing led by Scott and Chris. Ouch my stomach still hurts. So anyway, stay tuned to the site for more information than you all probably want to know about us. This is only the beginning. We love you all...Really

So you were out of town for our release party at the Central? What were you thinking? Well, have no fear because there are more shows coming up very soon, including one in Fremont that we'll call our 2nd release of "Biography of a Buzz" for those that couldn't make the 1st one. How about "Sustaining the Buzz?" I'll ponder that one.
As for our release last weekend......it was one hell of a party that would have never happened if it wasn't for all of our great friends and fans. You guys "kick ass." We caught our sidekick Yuri B. (a.k.a. Paul) on video tape this time and have gotten quite a few laughs from the re-runs. People said he was funny, but we had no idea, considering we were concentrating on that playing and singing thing. Hey, did anyone happen to bump into the drummer for the Foo Fighters? Nice of him to show up.
I'm working on making "Biography of a Buzz" available for purchase here on the web. Should happen soon. I'm also working on being funny while typing. As you can see, I'm not there yet and it may take a while.

M-set's latest recording project is done. Yes, the rumors are true that we recorded, engineered and produced the whole thing ourselves (next to the washer and dryer). But, suffice to say, it "kicks ass." Do you really expect anything less. The first copies can be bought at our CD release party on May 26th at the Central in Pioneer Square. After that will have them available, along with our previous release "E.P. Superheroes," at local retailers, our website and at all of our shows. "What is it called," you say? "Biography of a Buzz," we say. It is an 8 song satirical look at the record business with a cameo from Andy Savage of the End and appearances from a few different fans. See if you can guess who. Until next time.....
